Avaya IP400 PRI 24 T1 Expansion Kit

The IP500 control unit has 4 slots for the insertion of cards. These cards can be divided into two types; base cards and trunk cards.  Base cards include a front panel and ports for cable connections. Trunk cards can be added to a base card in order to provide additional facilities (typically trunk connections).

These trunk cards support 23B+D Primary rate (US PRI) trunks and 24B T1 robbed-bit trunks. The mode of operation is selected within the IP Office configuration. The T1 PRI card includes an integral CSU/DSU that can be activated through the IP Office Monitor application.

The IP400 Office PRI 24 T1 Expansion Kit provides single connection for a single PRI (primary rate trunk interface. T1 trunk cards incorporate an integrated CSU/DSU, eliminating the need for an external unit. The CSU function allows the trunk to be put in loop-back mode for testing purposes. This can be set manually, using the monitor application, or automatically from a Central Office sending a Line Loop Back (LLB) pattern. The DSU function allows the T1 trunk to be shared between data and voice services. Avaya IP Office Internal Daughter Cards are fitted inside the base module of the IP403, IP406 and IP412 platforms and add voice compression or modem features that allow businesses to easily and quickly extend Voice over IP (VoIP) and remote access benefits to a growing number of users.

A variant of the digital station card, Digital Station TCM8, supports select Nortel digital telephones. Refer to Telephone section for details.
